Pennsylvania Not public yet — State acknowledged a role but has not said what it is. National Guard activity reported
What’s happening
Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein’s October 28 report lists Pennsylvania among the seven states that have publicly acknowledged a National Guard role in the 2026 election. No Pennsylvania agency has published the mission’s details.
Pennsylvania has used Guard election support before: it was one of the fourteen states with Guard cyber assistance in 2022, and in 2024 its Guard personnel provided cybersecurity and general support under the governor’s authority.
Nothing about a Guard role at Pennsylvania drop boxes or polling places has been announced. This page will be updated when the state publishes details.
The threat this responds to
Pennsylvania is the largest swing state in the midterms, and its count will be watched by the whole country on election night. Election systems and administrators there are high-value targets for disruption and intimidation — the context in which an undescribed Guard role matters.
What it means if you vote in Pennsylvania
Nothing about voting in Pennsylvania has changed, and no Guard presence at voting sites has been reported. What is missing in Pennsylvania is information, not safety measures voters need to take.
