PoliVion
About this site

Who Funds PoliVion?

Nobody. No PACs, no donors, no advertisers, no sponsors — no funding from anyone, for anything.

Nobody.

PoliVion takes absolutely no funding from anyone. No political action committees. No donors. No advertisers. No sponsors. No grants. There is no donate button on this site, because there is nothing to donate to. (Her parents help with rent — but that’s rent, not PoliVion.)

This site is built and run by one person on her laptop — and she pays for it herself. AI assistants help with writing and research, building, and synthesis. Everything here is built in Muse (Meta); past projects were built in Claude (Anthropic), and idea synthesis happens in ChatGPT (OpenAI). She makes every editorial call.

Why it matters

A site that tracks money in politics has to be clean about its own money. If anyone funded PoliVion, they would have leverage over what it says: which candidates get scrutiny, which stories get told, which don’t. Independence isn’t a branding choice here. It’s the only way the numbers on this site mean anything.

That’s also why every dollar figure on PoliVion is sourced to public records you can check yourself — FEC filings, FundVoter, OpenSecrets, TrackAIPAC, and cited news reporting — with the methodology stated on the page. No funding means there’s no one to please; documentation means you don’t have to take our word for it.

How it stays running

Out of pocket. The domain, the hosting, and every hour of research are paid for by the person who builds it. The raw material — FEC filings and other public records — costs nothing but time.

If that ever changed — if PoliVion ever took a dollar from anyone — it would be disclosed on this page first, before anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Is PoliVion really completely unfunded?

Yes. No revenue of any kind: no ads on the site, no sponsored content, no donations, no grants, no PAC money. The person who builds it pays for all of it herself.

Who builds PoliVion?

One person, with AI assistance. She decides what gets researched and what the site says; AI assistants help with writing and research, building, and synthesis — everything is built in Muse (Meta), with past building in Claude (Anthropic) and idea synthesis in ChatGPT (OpenAI). Nothing goes up without her check.

Does PoliVion accept donations?

No. That’s a deliberate choice, not an oversight — taking money would end the independence this whole project is built on.

Then why should I trust the numbers?

Because they don’t rest on trust. Every figure is sourced to public records — FEC filings via FundVoter, OpenSecrets, TrackAIPAC, and cited reporting — with the date range and methodology stated wherever the number appears. Check them yourself; that’s what they’re there for.
